Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, all the ministers approved many major decisions related to the progress of the state in the cabinet meeting held at Prayagraj Mahakumbh on Wednesday. In the cabinet meeting, proposals related to 10 important development projects including the formation of two new development areas by combining Varanasi-Vindhya region and Prayagraj-Chitrakoot on the lines of State Capital Region (SCR) were approved.

After the cabinet meeting, CM Yogi reached Sangam with 54 ministers. Here everyone took a dip in the Sangam together amidst chanting of mantras. Then offered Arghya to the Sun. After taking bath, the CM also visited Sangam on a boat. During this, Yogi fed grains to the birds with his own hands. After this, he had his meal sitting on the ground with all the ministers.

Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, CM Yogi said that a dozen districts of Bundelkhand and Eastern UP will benefit from the formation of these two development areas. While development projects will gain momentum in the districts falling in both the regions, development of religious and tourist places will help in providing employment opportunities to the people at the local level. The Chief Minister said that after the formation of these two development areas, big companies will come to set up industries in these districts. Along with this, institutions like Knowledge Park, Yoga Center will also come up.

The cabinet also announced to gift two new expressways to the state. The first expressway will be 320 km long, which will connect Prayagraj to Sonbhadra. At the same time, the second one will be 100 km long Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway, which will start from Chandauli and will be built till Ghazipur, the end point of Purvanchal Expressway. Apart from this, the cabinet also approved the proposals related to construction of two new bridges on Ganga and Yamuna rivers in Prayagraj.

Approval for autonomous medical college in Balrampur

The way has been cleared for opening of autonomous state medical college in Balrampur district. The 166-bed Government Joint Hospital located here will be transferred to the Free Medical Education Department. The cabinet approved this proposal. Apart from this, approval has also been given to open medical colleges in Hathras, Baghpat and Kasganj under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
